Music @ Key Stage Five
Students follow the Edexcel course at As and A2. As part of their course they perform, compose and analyse music.
AS units
Unit 1 - Performing - recital and performing workshop
Unit 2 - Developing musical ideas - composing and compositional technique
Unit 3 - Listening and understanding - two areas of music are studied in detail e.g. Pop + jazz, large ensemble
A2 units
Unit 4 - Specialism - recital or composition portfolio
Unit 5 - Perorming during the course and compositional techniques
Unit 6 - Listening and understanding - two areas of study e.g. Pop and jazz (in more detail) and twentieth century art music
