GCSE Art & Design is given more lesson time (10 hours/fortnight). Students are given set themes and are encouraged to explore these individually. The assessment is based on 60% coursework and 40% examination. The 10 hour exam takes place in year 11 over a period of 3 days. The coursework is split into a series of projects based on a variety of subjects, allowing students to explore a range of media. Both the exam and coursework are marked using the came criteria.
